Commentary of Tianjin Pavilion

Introduction
Distinguished guests（or Dear guests）, welcome to Tianjin Pavilion.
Tianjin is one of the earliest trading ports in China. Hundreds of architectures of exotic styles are well preserved in Tianjin. This pavilion was designed with western style that typically found in Tianjin. It is a blending of Chinese and western cultures and is known as International Architectural Expo.
Tianjin pavilion is composed of five halls: Overview，Multi-media Demos, Hi-tech Exhibition, Eco-friendly Environment and Conclusion.

Overview
Tianjin is an international port city, the economic hub in North China and an eco-city. Tianjin Binhai New Area, is an important window for China to be involved in economic globalization and regional economic integration, a new economic growth pole after Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and Pudong New Area. This picture shows the location of Binhai New Area.
Tianjin was a well-known industrial and commercial city in history, and also the first city to host commodity fairs and exhibitions in China. This picture is Tianjin Quanye Bazaar Archway, the iconic commodity exhibition center of Quangong Chamber of Commerce, the first one in China in the early 20th century. Tianjin products won many awards in earlier World Expos, such as New Year Pictures of Yangliuqing, Kite Wei, Clay Figure Zhang and Yijuyong Kaoliang spirit displayed here.
 In modern and contemporary Chinese history, Tianjin is famous for being the “forerunner”. Hundreds of “China’s firsts” were created in Tianjin, such as the first university, the first post office, the first mint and the first stamp, etc. Displayed in this cabinet is the first set of Chinese stamps issued in 1878 in Tianjin----the Large Dragon stamps. The touch screens next to it present the water transport service, western-style buildings, “China’s firsts”, and trade and finance in Tianjin.
Over the past few years, Tianjin has developed at full speed. This is a beautiful picture of Jinwan Plaza, a sleepless commercial and tourist complex completed last year.
Tianjin is a city rich in cultural heritage. It is known as the dock of Peking Opera, the homeland of folk arts in North China, the cradle of singers and the birthplace of Chinese drama. This video clip tells about some historic figures in Tianjin’s cultural and art fields.
Beijing-Tianjin intercity high-speed rail is the first high-speed rail put into operation in China. It takes only 30 minutes to travel between Tianjin and Beijing with the highest speed of 350 km per hour. Hi-tech Exhibition
  For the past few years, Tianjin has been striving to be an innovation highland for manufacturing industry that features “high level, high quality and high and new technologies”. A series of top -level projects have been established in Tianjin, such as Airbus 320 assembly line, megaton ethylene project, ten-million-ton oil refinery, the new generation carrier rocket, unmanned aircraft, optical communication, thin-film solar cell, the biggest seawater desalination plant in Asia, the national-level new energy industrialization base, Shuguang high-performance computer manufacturing base, the wind-power equipment manufacturing base, and the industrialization base of aviation technology, etc. Hence, a new industrial structure composed of eight pillar industries has taken shape. They are aerospace, petrochemical, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, biopharmaceuticals, new energies and new materials, textile industry, and defense-related science and technology.
  Tianjin is the industrial base for modern Chinese medicine. Tasly Group is a leading manufacturer of Chinese medicine in Tianjin. This multi-media device is a multi-touch display system and mock-up designed by Tasly, which can interact with visitors. With sound, light and electricity, it displays the whole process about modern Chinese medicine, from herb planting, extracting, manufacturing, how the medicine works on human body and people enjoying a healthy life.
  In June 2009, Tianjin Binhai New Area signed a cooperation agreement with National University of Defense Technology to build a national supercomputing Tianjin center in Binhai New Area to develop and manufacture peta-flop supercomputer.
  Tianjin is also the birthplace of the first watch in China. Tianjin Watch Factory, which manufactured the first watch in China, is now known as Tianjin Seagull Watch Group which is a renowned company in the world. The Group has mastered the cutting-edge technology of tourbillon. The double-tourbillon mechanical watches made by Tianjin Seagull Watch Group have both eccentric and coaxial tourbillon structures, making breakthroughs in precision and aesthetics.
  Tianjin puts great emphasis on creation of the high and new technological industry. Now, please enjoy some high-tech products demonstrated by balls array。

Eco-friendly Environment
  Currently, Tianjin has entered a new phase of building a modern eco-city. Ecological environments with different features are under careful cultivation. Wetlands and lakes are under protection. Trees have been planted in large areas. Seawater desalination and clean energies are being actively promoted. An international modern livable city with unique characteristics is taking shape. This is a picture of Tianjin Tuanbowa Reservoir, Beidagang Reservoir, Qilihai and Dahuangbaowa wetland reserves.
  Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco City, started in 2008 in Tianjin Binhai New Area, is a strategic cooperation project between China and Singapore to improve the ecological environment. It is intended to restore and maintain the regional ecological pattern and create a harmony between man and nature. The Eco City is people-friendly, concerned about land conservation and green transportation. Tianjin Eco City will become a successful model for other cities.
  Beijiang Power Plant in Tianjin Binhai New Area is a demonstration project of circular economy in China. The project integrates power generation, seawater desalination, salt manufacturing, land conservation and waste recycling. The plant applied ultra-supercritical power generation technology and circular economy mode. When completed, annual generating capacity will increase by 11 gigawatts; annual output of crude salt will increase by 450,000 tons, which means 22 km2 of saltern is conserved; each year, about 60,000 tons of bromine, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate and other chemicals that are in short supply will be produced. In addition, zero emission is realized through comprehensive utilization of coal ash and the regional environment has been greatly improved.
  In the new phase of development, Tianjin will accelerate the transformation of economic development mode, promote the opening-up and development of Binhai New Area, improve people’s livelihood, and increase the level of urban construction and management. All in all, Great efforts will be made for Tianjin to turn it into an international port city, the economic hub of North China and an eco-city.
